Hair Growth – Red Light Therapy
Conveniently located to serve Los Angeles, CA
Light is energy. And just like the sun’s energy, it has to be channeled, directed, and applied to achieve beneficial effects.
The light of hope for hormonal hair loss happens to be red.
Red light therapy has helped thousands of men and women who suffered from an abundance from DHT hormone, which can affect their entire body or just their scalp. Hair loss is exacerbated by extreme stress, nutrient deficiencies, autoimmune diseases, over-styling, and medication side effects (especially birth control pills).
There are almost as many treatments for hair loss as there are causes of it – but those outdated treatments are all accompanied by a slew of side effects.
NASA research has demonstrated that, at the right frequency, red light can promote faster cell growth to aid in wound healing, reduce joint pain, and reverse sun damage. Applying that same principle, red light is now delivered to stimulate collagen production in the scalp, which enables hair follicles to grow hair again.
That’s why Stephanie and her team at The Novus Center deliver this non-invasive, non-ablative, painless, chemical and drug-free therapy. Discover how it can help you regrow the thick, silky mane of younger years.
What is Red Light Therapy?
Red light therapy is a form of photobiomodulation – the use of light-emitting diodes (LED) or low-level lasers to stimulate cellular activity.
It’s not merely shining a red light on your skin – it’s delivering just the right wavelength to just the right damaged cells by harnessing Cytochrome C, the enzyme that absorbs red light and stimulates hair follicles to signal your genes to reduce cell death.
When red light wavelengths between 630-670 nm are absorbed by a hair follicle, they promote collagen production. That collagen helps stimulate hair growth.
Stephanie will adjust the red light spectrum properties to penetrate your skin at appropriate levels, powering up your natural healing properties on a cellular level by:
- stimulating your blood circulation
- increasing lymphatic activity to promote drainage of interstitial fluid from your tissues
- transporting white blood cells to areas where they’re needed
- activating our body’s metabolic processes
- generating collagen and fibroblast production
- increasing cellular clean up to reduce inflammation
She may enhance your therapy by adding Platelet Rich Plasma. PRP is produced from your own blood sample, which is spun in a centrifuge to extract platelets with highly concentrated amounts of natural growth factors and other cytokines. These proteins promote faster, more effective regeneration by navigating cells to the damaged areas where collagen is most desperately needed. For optimal results, most patients require 15-30 minutes of laser light exposure two to three times per week. The length of your treatment will be based on your specific type of hair loss and any other health conditions you’re struggling with. Your age will also affect the speed and efficacy of your therapy.
Most of our patients see results within 2-3 months. Red light therapy hair growth can only be achieved on areas of the body where hair once grew. Be sure to follow Stephanie’s aftercare instructions precisely.
